"We'll see," Beverly says, though she's grinning, confident, as she does. She'd thought this might be a good distraction, and so far, it's already seeming to be, just enough to keep her from getting too stuck in her head for a while. If she could, she would tell him just how much it means to her to be able to do things like this, to go out and have fun together, to feel safe, but she's not sure she'll ever really have the words. She would have to veer too close to too many unpleasant truths in order to do so, and some subjects are better left unaddressed. Still, she appreciates it.
