"If they're not, they should be," Beverly says with a smile of her own. It's maybe a little bit of an exaggeration, but she thinks the others learned quickly back home that she's capable of holding her own and then some. At least with boardwalk games, there are no stakes but bragging rights, though she'll gladly take those. Still, she's not entirely sure they need the company. She spends plenty of time with her friends, and she probably doesn't need to subject Hopper to more time than is necessary around teenage boys. She can always catch up with them later.
